Settling In

I am starting to feel a bit more comfortable in my apartment. Live With Kelly and Michael and other things are part of my morning routine now. It has been like this for many years. However, I have been trying to follow the FlyLady daily missions. This week it is the mission for the master bedroom. I will try to see if I could follow today's mission.

I was looking through the Red Plum coupons earlier this morning and found some coupons for Dunkin Donuts. There were many coupons in the packet that I could use. I even have a coupon for Uncle Ben's Ready Rice that I could use. Anyway, mashed potatoes and barbecue chicken for dinner tonight.

My mom and I visited Ashley Furniture Home Store today to look for some furniture. I am happy to report that I found what I was looking for. :-)

Having a guest made me realize that I was missing some things, for example, a large pot to cook spaghetti in. Anyway, I will make up a Christmas list with all the stuff that I need.

websites

I absolutely love Craigs List. I saw an ad for a beautiful Queen sized bedroom set. I just need to call the person that put the ad. Another great website to look for furniture is Ebay.

dresser

I pretty much think that the girl that lives underneath my apartment is tired of hearing me putting my bag on the floor so it is time for me to finally get a dresser. I went to Big Lots to shop for a dresser today and found a nice dresser for over $400. However, I am waiting to go to the website to get approval for financing.

Window curtains

I went on a trip to Target this morning to find the perfect curtains for my bedroom windows. I had to choose between an 84" or a 52". The 52" is more fit for my bedroom windows. Target also has some great colorful sheets, but I did not go there for sheets.

OMG! I discovered something today. Google shopping! I put a bookcase, end tables, nightstand, and dresser on my shortlist. :-)

Today started off very nicely. I received a surprise visit from Mom who had a small package of food that she made on Sunday. Whatever it is will be eaten when I get home. I definitely do not want to eat the chicken that I made yesterday which did not taste well even though it marinated for over 24 hours. It was no fun to cook after 8pm yesterday.

 

Maybe I will actually use my table that I purchased from SA(Salvation Army).  I plan to post a picture of the food later on.

 

Da Vinci's The Last Supper

I finally got my own apartment this past September! :-) Furnishing it has been very slow. I received a used sofa set thanks to my cousin Kendra. The computer desk (which I am currently using to do this post) and my little dining table were purchased at my favorite Salvation Army store. I still need a few things like a dresser, nightstand, end tables, and a bookshelf.

Anyway, the other day I felt a bit of excitement when I purchased a painting that I was interested in a few weeks ago.

This painting brings back memories because my parents had a copy of The Last Supper when I grew up.  Anyway, I plan to add more paintings to the decor of my apartment.
